Cyberpunk 2077 Graphics And Performance Boosting DLSS 3 Update Is Available To Download Now

Cyberpunk 2077 now has DLSS 3 support as of today's patch, so those with supported hardware on PC can enjoy higher graphics settings and better performance than previously possible. If your computer harbors a Nvidia RTX 40-series GPU, then the addition of DLSS 3 support is likely a welcome one. With this new setting, you can have "every setting and ray-traced option maxed out for the best image quality," according to a press release, with performance being described as "great" too. Cyberpunk 2077 also has a "psycho mode" ray-tracing setting, which adds ray-traced global illumination, letting sunlight bounce around the world much more realistically, a setting not too many computers will be able to handle. As well as this, the update is laying the groundwork for the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077: Ray Tracing Overdrive Mode update that will enhance things even further. Nvidia announced DLSS 3--which stands for Deep Learning Super Sampling-- last year , whic...

Why Fans Believe GTA 6 Is Close To Launch

After years of waiting, GTA 6 fans believe that Rockstar's next game could be crossing the development finish line soon. Twitter account GTA 6 News & Leaks 2.0 (via GamesRadar ) uploaded screenshots from various sources that have all claimed to show the game off in a more complete state when compared to last year's massive leak of in-development footage. More than 90 videos and screenshots surfaced from an early build of the game and a London-based hacker was arrested , allegedly in connection with the leak. While that early and unofficial look at GTA 6 left fans to believe that Rockstar's newest sandbox was still very early in development, the new report from GTA 6 News & Leaks 2.0 claims otherwise. Linking to a forum post from Rockstar Games insider Tez2, multiple files for "bankrelease," "beta," and "debug" builds of the game were discovered by the individual. It's suggested that these files point to more feature-complete bu...

New PlayStation Ad Might Be Hinting At A New Uncharted Game

A new ad for PlayStation 5 was uploaded to the official PlayStation YouTube channel that may be hinting at a new adventure in the Uncharted franchise--one with a new, younger Drake as the protagonist. The "Live From PS5" ad shows live-action versions of multiple games in the PS5 library in a local news format. We see glimpses of Spider-Man, Aloy from Horizon, Kratos and Atreus from God of War, and many more. However, among the rapid-fire scenes shown toward the end of the video, a young girl is shown holding a torch in a dark cave, with a shiny object on a pedestal in front of her. Finding a PS5 should become easier starting this year. Thanks for your patience 💙 New “Live From PS5” spot celebrates the moment: https://t.co/bwzIfN4FKf pic.twitter.com/ydouuWG6BL — PlayStation (@PlayStation) January 30, 2023 Eagle-eyed Twitter users immediately picked up on the scenes, which led to speculation that a new Uncharted game starring Nathan and Elena's daughter Cassie is...

Life is Strange developer Don't Nod has teased a new game that looks very 90s

Image
Don't Nod , the original developer behind the Life is Strange series, has shown off a small teaser image for its next game. It looks like Don't Nod has a few eggs in its basket at the moment, as the developer shared an image of one of its next projects on Twitter last week. The image has some strong 90s vibes, set in what looks like quite a cosy basement, complete with a fake cartridge-based gaming console, CRT TV, VCR, and set of VHS tapes to boot. "Here's a little glimpse of what Don't Nod Montreal is brewing!" reads the tweet. "Does it bring back childhood memories?" The main point of the tweet is to advertise that the developer is hiring at its Montreal studio, for a range of roles. Judging from the look of the image, this new game will probably be closer in style to Life is Strange or Tell Me Why. A bit of a contrast from the studio's latest reveal, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, which it revealed at The Game Awards last month . Read mo...

PS5 Supply Has Been Increased And It Should Be "Much Easier" To Get One, Sony Says

Following a multi-year period where it was extremely difficult to find a PlayStation 5, Sony is now telling fans they should have a "much easier time" getting their hands on a console. In a blog post , PlayStation executive Isabelle Tomatis thanked fans for their patience as Sony experienced "unprecedented demand" for the console at the same time that "global challenges" limited the availability of new PS5 systems worldwide. "If you're looking to purchase a PS5 console, you should now have a much easier time finding one at retailers globally," Tomatis said. None of this should come as a surprise, as Sony said at CES this month that the PS5 shortage was basically over . Despite the shortages, Sony has sold more than 30 million systems so far . Sony said fans can visit the official PlayStation Store to buy a new PS5 or visit a local retailer, and stock should be more readily available. However, there are never any guarantees. Sony also re...

Phil Spencer Says 343 Industries Is "Criticaly Important" To Halo

Times are tough at Microsoft right now, as the company recently slashed over 10,000 jobs from its various divisions , including key staff at Halo Infinite studio 343 Industries. With the future of the iconic Xbox franchise unclear, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer gave an update on 343's future without directly mentioning if the developer was working on new single-player content. "Every year is critical," Spencer said to IGN . "I don't find this year to be more or less critical. I feel good about our momentum. Obviously, we're going through some adjustments right now that are painful, but I think necessary, but it's really to set us up and the teams for long-term success. Halo will remain critically important to what Xbox is doing, and 343 is critically important to the success of Halo. The heart and soul of Halo is with 343 and the team that's there, and I have the utmost confidence in the team that's there and leading and the plan that they ha...

Dead Island 2 will swap out the skill tree for a skill deck

Image
Did you know that cards are the new big thing in video games? Well, they are, and Dead Island 2 is succumbing to the trend, too. In a recent interview with GameInformer (transcribed by NME ), the lead narrative designer, Khan, and creative director, James Worrall, of Dambuster Studios had a few things to note, including how the skill tree has been transformed. Dead Island 2 has been in development for a long while now, so it’s surreal to think that the game is just a few months away. During Dambuster’s interview, Khan shared that Dead Island 2 is actually set ten years after the original game, and will unfold in the setting of LA. Amazon is developing a Tomb Raider series with Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge at the helm

Image
Phoebe Waller-Bridge, best known as the creator of the Emmy-winning series Fleabag, is apparently helming a new Tomb Raider show. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter , Waller-Bridge is developing a Tomb Raider show for Amazon, as part of a larger deal with the company that is seeing her produce multiple projects for the retail and streaming company. According to The Hollywood Reporter's sources, Waller-Bridge is attached to write scripts for the series, but has no plans to star in it herself. The writer-actor is also serving as executive producer on the series alongside Ryan Andolina, the former head of comedy at Amazon, as well as Amanda Greenblatt. There's no more details other than that on the project, so it's obviously pretty early days currently. This isn't the only live action adaptation of the classic series, receiving a 2001 film starring Angelina Jolie, and a later 2018 film starring Alicia Vikander. The latter was somewhat meant to be a live action reboo...

After two decades, Kadabra might finally be returning to the Pokemon TCG

Image
Kadabra, the spoon-bending psychic Pokemon, might finally be returning to the trading card game after more than two decades of absence. The history of the Pokemon TCG and Kadabra is a bit of a weird and sad one. To catch you up to speed, back in 2000, magician Uri Geller took legal action against Nintendo over Kadabra's supposed resemblance to him because of the Pokemon's psychic abilities and spoon-bending iconography. As a result, Kadabra couldn't be used in the TCG, but in 2020 Geller apologised for the situation , and granted Nintendo permission to start printing Kadabra cards again. And according to Pokemon TCG fansite PokeBeach , we should be seeing Kadabra in the card game once more later this year. Earlier this month, PokeBeach reported that a new Japanese Pokemon TCG set called Pokemon Card 151 would be releasing this June, obviously alluding to the original 151 pocket monsters. When asked by PokeBeach about any knowledge he might have to do with Kadabra, he si...

Overwatch 2 dev gives an update on ranked issues and more

Image
Blizzard game director Aaron Keller has addressed some of the issues Overwatch 2 players are still experiencing with its ranked mode in a recent blog post. Ever since Overwatch 2 launched last year, its ranked mode hasn't felt quite right, in particular because players haven't been entirely confident in what their real rank is. To help with that, Keller has put out a blog post explaining what he believes the problem is, as well as promising changes for season 3. "The new Ranked mode suffered from poor comprehension," wrote Keller. "There was confusion around players’ real rank and how that translated to their skill level, difficulty forming groups with friends, and a negative impression of the matchmaker when players of different ranks were put in the same match (even if their skill levels were similar). Xbox head Phil Spencer discusses recent Microsoft layoffs, Activision Blizzard acquisition, and more

Image
In a recent interview, Xbox head Phil Spencer touched on a range of topics to do with the platform, including the recent layoffs. Earlier this month, Microsoft laid off roughly 10,000 employees to supposedly prepare for slower revenue growth, and Xbox owned studios like Halo developer 343 Industries and Bethesda were affected too. Spencer recently spoke with IGN about what lies in Xbox's future for the year, but also spoke of the layoffs. "As somebody who's been on Xbox for an awful long time, it's always a challenge whenever a coworker...a team member is not going to be on the journey with us going forward," Spencer told IGN. "I take to heart the impact on individuals. I see my commitment and my responsibility as the person who heads the business to create a safe place where people can do their best work. And obviously, we have reductions for certain people there. I haven't succeeded at that." Read more from VG247 Latest Articles Feed http...

Forza Motorsport has reportedly been delayed from its Spring release window

Image
According to a new report, Forza Motorsport has been delayed out of its Spring 2023 release window to as early as "Q3 maybe even a little bit later." It was just this week that Microsoft showed off a chunk of Forza Motorsport gameplay at the Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct presentation. But viewers noticed that the release window provided had a vague 2023 rather than a more specific Spring 2023, as noted in the trailer for the game at last year's Xbox and Bethesda summer showcase. Now, Giant Bomb's Jeff Grubb, known for his insider information, has expanded upon that with the claim the game has been slightly delayed. "I feel pretty good about this after asking around a couple of times after hearing it the first time earlier today," Grubb said on the most recent episode of the Game Mess Decides podcast (thanks, VGC ). "It does seem like Forza is going to slip later into the year and probably won't be the first half of the year...The timefra...

Don't worry, Skate still isn't going to have paid loot boxes

Image
If you were worried about the upcoming Skate reboot having loot boxes and the like, that's very fair, but the devs promise it won't. EA and loot boxes are pretty synonymous with one another, so it's very understandable if you have some apprehensions about Full Circle's new Skate game. Concerns have also been growing slightly since a recent Insider Gaming report claimed that Skate does have a loot box system built into the game currently. Seemingly in response to this, the official Skate Twitter account posted a tweet with a reminder that the game is "not pay-to-win," has "no map areas locked behind paywall, no paid loot boxes," and "no paid gameplay advantages." According to Insider Gaming's report, the way you can unlock loot boxes currently is using a currency called Stars, which a previous datamine suggested you could receive by exchanging it with another currency called Taps, earned through tricks and generally just playing t...

What are you playing this weekend?

Image
January is almost over, but it's still cold outside. So, we're staying warm and curling up on the couch with a game. Or tossing a blanket in our lap while we sit at the PC. Either way works. This week, a couple of us are exploring the USG Ishimura, another will experience an iconic, critically acclaimed RPG, and one of us isn't playing anything this weekend because her 8yo nephew is coming to visit. 'Very early' footage of a Horizon multiplayer game has seemingly leaked

Image
A video claiming to be of a leaked multiplayer project based on the Horizon franchise has appeared online. The leak was posted on Reddit , and it shows what's said to be a very early alpha build of the game from 2020. There are also a few screencaps over on Resetera . The look of it reminds me a bit of Sea of Thieves and other games with similar graphics. While we can't confirm the footage, the idea of a Horizon multiplayer game isn't out of the question, considering Guerrilla said back in December it was working to "expand the world of Horizon," and was on a hiring spree . And back in 2021, it was hiring for a multiplayer project . Read more from VG247 Latest Articles Feed https://ift.tt/hBeRA5I via IFTTT

Steam Base Building Fest is almost over - get in on the deals and demos while you can

The Steam Base Builder Fest is still going on, and you have a couple of days left to take advantage of deals on select city-building simulation games. If you are into city building, management sims, or rogue-likes, surely you will find something interesting. One of the games on sale is WW2 Rebuilder , which tasks you with rebuilding, renovating, and repairing cities destroyed during World War 2 where you will also get to know the history and stories of civilians. This immersive building simulator released on January 16 has a demo available. It's a rather good game, as I have played the demo, and it has a Very Positive rating on Steam. GoldenEye 007 players show you how to remap your Switch controls so it plays like a modern FPS

Image
Switch Online users seem to be enjoying playing GoldenEye 007 on their consoles, but a few are having a bit of trouble with the controls. Apparently, the controls are auto-configured to how the game was released originally. If you played it on N64 back in the day, the controls did take a bit of getting used to, but we caught on rather quickly. Remember inverted aiming? Some of us still use it, and this game is probably why. Read more from VG247 Latest Articles Feed https://ift.tt/1AScLNT via IFTTT

Dead Space Remake Easter Egg Hints That A Dead Space 2 Remake Could Be Coming

Even though the upcoming Dead Space remake by EA isn't out yet, there appears to be an easter egg hinting at a possible sequel, or at the very least, paying homage to the other installments in the series. Spoiler warning for those who haven't played the original Dead Space After completing the game, players have the option to replay the story with New Game Plus . Once they load back into the game, players will notice a few new text logs that weren't originally there when they first played the game. In the new logs, players can read an email-like exchange between two characters talking about looking for new employment opportunities due to the "decommissioning" that's supposed to happen within the next year. As the conversation continues, the two talk about potentially working at the Sprawl on Titan. This location is significant in the Dead Space franchise because this is the location where Issac ends up fighting for his life in Dead Space 2 after narrowly ...

Far Cry 7 And A Multiplayer Far Cry Game Reportedly In The Works

Ubisoft is reportedly working on two Far Cry games. One will be a single-player experience, while the other will be a multiplayer-based game. This is according to an Insider Gaming report that claims the unannounced Far Cry game was originally meant to be one game until Dan Hay, the former franchise executive director for Far Cry, left Ubisoft to work at Blizzard Entertainment. The report goes on to say that the single-player project is now being referred to as Project Blackbird, and the multiplayer Far Cry is being called Project Maverick, with Ubisoft Montreal being heavily involved in both games. Although not much is known, the report suggests that Project Maverick will be set in the Alaskan wilderness and is set to be an extraction-based looter-shooter. This does align with a previous poll that Ubiosft did in the past that was originally spotted by PC Gamer , where it asked fans where they'd like the next Far Cry to be based--one of the options was Alaska. The news of the u...

Skate Reboot Devs Really Want You To Know It's Not Pay-To-Win

Loot boxes, understandably, have quite the negative connotation. So when a recent report mentioned them in association with EA's Skate reboot, developer Full Circle wanted to make it clear the game isn't pay-to-win. The official Skate account on Twitter put out a reminder about the game, saying it's "not pay-to-win, no map areas locked behind paywall, no paid loot boxes, [and] no paid gameplay advantages." Full Circle has previously discussed how it aims for the game's free-to-play model to be all about cosmetics and convenience. a reminder of some of the things we shared in episode 1 of The Board Room last year. 👇 https://t.co/lxgQsZ8yVG pic.twitter.com/KcTMI0FxnG — skate. (@skate) January 26, 2023 The Insider Gaming report focused on how Skate will let you earn loot boxes for pulling off sick tricks. Destiny 2: Lightfall Will See Umbral Engrams Retired

A lot of big changes are coming to Destiny 2 next month when the Lightfall expansion arrives, as well as hundreds of smaller tweaks that'll have a big impact on the game's economy. Bungie detailed more of these extensive changes in a blog update , which will see Umbral engrams retired, new focusing options for gear across the board, and most importantly for fashionistas, the return of armor shaders that have been unavailable for quite some time. Umbral engrams have been a regular part of the Destiny 2 economy for several seasons now, but from Season 20, these will no longer drop in the game. These engrams have usually obtained as a reward when completing various activities or a random drop from enemies, and have been used to acquire weapons and gear from the seasonal world loot pool since Season 11. Bungie says that seasonal content will transition to seasonal engrams being used, and any Umbral engrams that you have in your inventory after Season 20 starts can be decrypted by ...

Xbox's Hi-Fi Rush has that Dreamcast era vibe, and it could be one of the best games of the year

Image
Time is ever-flowing, but it’s also undoubtedly a flat circle. Trends come and go, and loop back around, and here we are – it’s the year of our lord 2023, and a time portal has just opened above our heads and dropped a Dreamcast classic into our laps. Or a GameCube classic, to be fair – it feels like it’d be most at home on either of those. The point is, the latest first-party addition to Xbox Game Pass feels like it’s time traveled from circa 1998-2003. And I mean that in the best possible way. A new off-beat action game from Tango Gameworks , the Bethesda studio that up until this point has been all about survival horror. The studio was founded by Shinji Mikami, the man most often credited as the most influential person in the creation of the Resident Evil series – and thus far, the studio’s works have matched up to that. But this game, on which Mikami is the producer behind director John Johanas of The Evil Within 2 fame, demonstrates that he – and Tango – can do so much more. ...

CoD: Warzone 2 And Modern Warfare 2 Will Include UI Overhaul, 1v1 Gulag, And More For Season 2

Activision has shared a community update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 , announcing several major changes for Season 2. Players can expect all the normal seasonal content, plus major balancing changes, improvements to the UI, audio fixes, as well as updates to the overall stability and performance for both games. Call of Duty's Season 2 update was delayed by two weeks . Originally set for February 1, Season 2 was pushed back to February 15 to give the developers more time to implement changes and make quality of life updates based on player feedback. These changes will affect multiplayer, battle royale, and DMZ. Warzone 2 As previously announced by Infinity Ward, the 1v1 Gulag is returning with Season 2 . Activision has now confirmed that the return of the more traditional-sized Gulag will also remove Al Mazrah's Jailer NPC in favor of Warzone 1's overtime Domination-style flag point. Season 2 will feature an edit of the existing Gulag for better 1v1...

The DualSense Edge is Sony’s best controller ever – and gives the Xbox Elite a run for its money

Image
I’ve always really wanted to love the DualSense , Sony’s quite groundbreaking controller overhaul for the PlayStation 5 . And yet, I admit, since as far back as when I was playing the PS5 pre-release, I had my doubts. Those feelings persist to this day - but now, Sony has a new type of DualSense, an expensive premium version of the pad, and it’s without a doubt the best version of this controller. It might even be the best ‘elite’ controller offering on the market - watch out, Xbox. Let’s deal with the elephant in the room first, though, yeah? My primary issue with the original DualSense was the battery life, and I regret to inform you that the DualSense Edge isn’t any better – in fact, it’s worse. Very early into the PS5’s life I mused that all those extra bells and whistles on the PS5 controller – lights, haptics, resistant triggers, motion-sensing – it was all nice, but I’d generally trade most of it for a controller with better battery life. I do generally stand by that opinion, ...

The Day Before Delayed To November 2023 Amid Trademark Dispute And Legal Issues

The post-apocalyptic zombie game The Day Before , which has been criticized for its reported use of unpaid workers, has been delayed to November 2023 due in part to a trademark issue, it seems. The game has been pushed from March 2023 to November 2023. Developer Fntastic and publisher Mytona said in a statement that Steam blocked The Day Before from getting a page on the store due to a request from a private individual over the game's name. The studio said when it announced The Day Before in January 2021, the name "The Day Before" was available to trademark as a video game. After this, a person registered that name with the US Patent and Trademark Office , beating Fntastic to the punch. pic.twitter.com/tlvk0ryNKo — Fntastic (@FntasticHQ) January 25, 2023 Fntastic went on to say that it found out about the trademark issue on January 19, 2023, when the person owning The Day Before's video game trademark reached out with a request to talk. Microsoft Reports Drop In Xbox Sales, Overall Gaming Revenue

Microsoft has released its latest earnings report for the quarter ending December 31, less than a week after it announced it would be laying off 10,000 people . The tech giant reported an overall drop in income, as well as a 13% decrease in gaming revenue. Both hardware and content sales lagged for Xbox compared to the same period the previous year, with console revenue down 13% and content and services down 12%. Microsoft points out that this comparison is with a "strong prior year," pointing to "declines in first-party content and lower monetization in third-party content" for the drop. This was partially offset by Xbox Game Pass's continued growth, Microsoft adds. Microsoft's latest consoles, the Xbox Series X and Series S released in 2020 with demand initially outstripping demand. In the most recent financial quarter, revenue from console sales dropped 13%, with Microsoft pointing to lower pricing over the holiday period, as well as an overall drop in...

Xbox Game Pass Is Losing Four More Games Very Soon

As it does on a regular basis, Microsoft is removing more titles from Xbox Game Pass in the near future. At least four titles are leaving the program on January 31, according to a notification that popped up in the Xbox Game Pass app seen by GameSpot. The four games leaving on January 31 include Telling Lies, Donut County, Worms W.M.D., and Taiko no Tatsujin: The Drum Master. Microsoft has yet to publish an official post about the newest removals from Game Pass, but news usually breaks first from the app. Keep checking back for more. As usual, Game Pass subscribers can save 20% on titles when buying them outright, so that's a silver lining should fans want to keep playing after the removal date. This is the second wave of removals for Game Pass in January. On January 15, six titles got cut from the library , including We Happy Few, The Anacrusis, Windjammers 2, Pupperazzi, Nobody Saves the World, and Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. Street Fighter 6 YouTubers covering new gameplay footage hit by copyright strikes

Image
Content creators on YouTube are having Street Fighter 6 videos taken down, placing strikes on multiple channels that feature footage from a pay-per-view tournament showcase. This showcase had gameplay of several characters that people hadn’t seen in action yet, including Blanka, Dee Jay, Manon, Marisa, and JP. Fighting game content creators who were eager to dissect the special moves, combos, and supers that were shown off, were quick to create video content only to be slapped down with a channel strike. For those who don’t know, copyright channel strikes on YouTube are a serious deal! One can be scary enough as a permanent marker on your platform, however three strikes within 90 days results in the permanent removal of your channel from the website. For those just archiving footage this may not be the end of the world, but for full-time content creators with thousands of subscribers, this is essentially the sudden destruction of a lot of hard work. Forspoken review: Square Enix's latest RPG experiment feels like it's already on borrowed time

Image
https://exe.io/BZZoU Forspoken shows the best and worst of the Luminous Engine’s tech, mixing kinetic combat with dazzling particle effects and janky set pieces. Pressing the DualSense triggers in Forspoken is so hard I feel like I can now do finger push ups like Bruce Lee, but thankfully this doesn’t stop the combat from being one of the better parts of the experience – once you figure out how to play Bop-It with the complicated controls. On your left hand, governed by L1 and L2, you have support spells designed for defensive zoning, stealing health from enemies, and buffing your abilities. While on your right you have your typical damage dealing spell types that you switch between with R1 and fire by pressing or holding R2. WWE 2K23 devs talk on "challenging" Wargames development: "that wait has been worth it."

Image
WWE 2K23 has just gotten the full spread of its new features revealed, including a shiny new Wargames match type, a full spread of John Cena goddess including a front cover, dedicated showcase mode, a curated soundtrack by the five-knuckle shuffler himself, and more. To go alongside these details, we sat down for a short but (too) sweet interview with Lynell Jinks and Brian Williams from Visual Concepts, talking about the challenges with bringing Wargames to the series as well as the future of WWE 2K showcases. While John Cena may be the most obviously exciting star for WWE 2K23, you may want to pause for a minute and consider Wargames. For non-wrestling fans, it’s wild. Originally created in the 80’s. It's a team-based battle between two rings placed side by side, with a big steel cage surrounding the whole ordeal. A roof on this cage is optional. Grand Theft Auto Trilogy finally returns to Steam, with 50% off

Image
Being a fan of Grand Theft Auto is not the most fruitful endeavour right now, unless you’re massively into GTA Online. It’s been nearly a decade since the last title in the series, Grand Theft Auto 5, and we’ve heard next to nothing about the illusive Grand Theft Auto 6 . The only release we’ve been privy to since 2013 was quite the mess at launch. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition released in 2021, and it hosts three games from the series: Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City, and San Andreas. At launch, it wasn’t in a great state, to say the least, and players were not happ y. However, in the time since its release, some patches have been rolled out to address issues with the trilogy of games, though it was still previously only available via Rockstar Games’ Launcher. Now, the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy has been relisted on Steam , alongside a hefty 50% discount. Read more from VG247 Latest Articles Feed https://ift.tt/mgRKEu2 via IFTTT
