Niantic, the developer behind Pokemon Go , will, will soon be releasing a new social app called Campfire. Niantic describes Campfire as a "new social app" that'll encourage players to meet new people and explore new places. Niantic has had Campfire in beta for the past few months and aims to start testing it for all players worldwide soon. It will begin rolling out to select groups of Pokemon Go players first throughout the summer. When players open up Campfire, they'll see a map of their surrounding area and activities from friends and other players' locations in a specific area. On the top right, an icon will take you to your channels or game-specific map views. Players can switch between these channels as they move through different game experiences. The original STALKER instalment, Shadow of Chernobyl , first released all the way back in 2007. While we await the series' fourth instalment from GSC Game World, one particular fan and modder has taken it upon themselves to remaster the original game. First reported by DSOG , modder Andrey0007 has been chipping away at this fan remaster of STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl , and has revealed some screenshots of their work. Andrey0007's overhaul mod for the game is said to replace all the textures with 4K versions. While some of this will be done using AI upscaling techniques, the modder will also be creating some entirely new textures in some instances. It's pretty clear that Sony Santa Monica is in the final stages of development on God of War Ragnarok . Everyone can sense it's close, just not how close. Well, according to studio creative director Cory Barlog, the game will be released this year. Over the past several months, we've heard reports that Ragnarok has been delayed to 2023, and counter-reports saying that it has not , and will in fact be out this November. There's certainly, however, evidence to suggest an imminent release, such as the recent Korean Board rating . Skull and Bones is the elusive pirate title from Ubisoft that has been in the works for a while now, although, it hasn't been the steadiest of rides. That being said, a leak from the Xbox Store , if valid, suggests that the game may be available to play as soon as November . The game, which follows you and up to five others sailing across the Indian Ocean, was first revealed in 2017. Since then, it's had a TV series' despite not being out yet, and has been delayed multiple times. More recently, however, Ubisoft confirmed what games the company will be releasing before the end of the fiscal year , which ends on March 31, 2023. I stopped playing Dead by Daylight just under a year ago. The grind was beyond belief whenever a new character came out, and these new characters appear constantly. Behaviour Interactive seems to have finally taken this into account, to an extent, in the latest overhaul to the game’s progression system . Behaviour Interactive is no stranger to these overhauls, and has previously spent huge amounts of time determining whether Skill Based Match Making or a Match Making Rating is the better match-making system for the game. More recently, the team changed how ranks in the game work after having fully integrated SBMM: ranks became obsolete, and grades came in instead. I'm still not entirely sure how they work. The main issue prevalent with Dead by Daylight right now is arguably how long it takes to level characters and collect all perks for them. Marvel's mobile fighter game Contest of Champions is getting ready to celebrate the release of Thor: Love and Thunder on July 8, with two new champions Gorr and Valkyrie. As part of today's third-party-focused Nintendo Direct, Square Enix announced that Nier Automata is in development for the Switch. This won't be a cloud-based version as we've been seeing recently, and will instead run natively on the console. The End of Yorha Edition arrives on Switch October 6, and includes all previously released content, as well as some Switch-exclusive costumes. Nier Automata's release on Switch has always been something fans of the series wanted, though Square Enix always appeared to move slowly when it comes to the series. Game director Yoko Taro was previously asked about the possibility of seeing the game on Switch, telling fans to instead ask Square Enix. This will be achieved through recording voice comms in online matches of Valorant, which will then be evaluated if a report indicating some form of toxic behaviour comes through. The Stanley Cup Finals have now concluded, with the Colorado Avalanche defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning in the best-of-seven series for the title. Bungie is suing the person behind several bogus Destiny 2 DMCA takedowns. March 2022 saw Bungie and various YouTubers hit with a DMCA takedown. At the time, it wasn’t clear who was issuing the takedowns, but Bungie eventually found out who the malefactor was, and has filed a lawsuit. According to the filing , the offender's name is Nicholas Minor who goes by Lord Nazo on YouTube. Apparently, Minor was issued a takedown notice by Bungie on YouTube, went off the rails, and eventually started targeting Bungie and prominent Destiny YouTubers. It sounds as though EA is ready to show off Skate 4 , according to a report. Sources speaking with Try Hard's Tom Henderson have said EA is ready to give the world a look at the next entry in the series. In essence, current owners of Overwatch will download a patch and the game will become Overwatch 2, with all the associated changes to multiplayer. For example, the game will change to a 5v5 format and introduce various balance alterations. The promised PvE campaign mode is slated to release in 2023. The clarification came via a Reddit AMA. In a post from the Overwatch 2 Game Director , Aaron Keller, stated that the game’s launch on October 4th represents the beginning of Early Access. As the Steam Deck gets into more users’ hands, more people are exercising their right to tinker with the device . As shipped, the Steam Deck supports only the smallest variety of M.2 drives, the 2230. Twitter user @TheSmcelra , as reported by Hot Hardware , found a way to allow for a slightly bigger drive: a M.2 2242. To do this, they used a 30 to 42 mm bracket extension to push the retention screw slightly further on the motherboard and simply moved a thermal pad out of the way. As a consequence, the back board of the Deck pushed out slightly. However, the larger drive did not interfere with any other part of the device. It looks like bunny hopping won't be as viable a strategy in Apex Legends Mobile going forward, as developer Respawn is going to nerf the move. The change will be made in the game's next update. "We have seen some interesting clips of players conserving momentum through [bunny hopping], making for some wild movement," Respawn wrote on Twitter . "The amount of momentum conservation through this tech, however, was never intended, so a fix for this will be included in our next update." Bunny hopping is a technique that can be pulled off in many first-person shooters, where players rely on momentum, crouching, and repeated small jumps to move around. This comes several years after the addition of mouse and keyboard support to Xbox consoles . The long-anticipated feature was revealed during a developer focused talk delivered by Morgan Brown , a software engineer at Xbox. During the presentation, Brown outlined how the Xbox Cloud Gaming team plans to reduce latency and assist developers in optimizing their game’s resolution and graphics for streaming. The Sims 4 's latest DLC is bringing werewolves back, with two new packs to join, and a whole new neighbourhood to explore. Werewolves have been a part of the Sims since the first game's Makin' Magic expansion, but the new pack makes them more customisable than ever. Werewolf sims can be created directly from the Create-A-Sim page, or players can turn their sims into werewolves by befriending an existing werewolf and asking them to turn them. It's also possible for sims to be turned accidentally by a rampaging werewolf--the sims will contract a disease called Werebies, which can be cured by the bartender at Moonwood Mill's Grimtooth Bar & Bunker, or allowed to run its course for a full transformation. The game pack also introduces two werewolf factions: the peaceful Moonwood Collective and the rebellious Wildfangs. Mobile game Alchemy Stars has announced that its latest event is a crossover with Persona 5 Royal , adding some of the JRPG's characters into its world. The Phantom Thieves will appear in a new story event, which will explain their appearance in Alchemy Stars' world of Astra, and the characters will also be unlockable and purchasable. The Persona 5 Royal event will be arriving sometime in July, with publisher Level Infinite yet to announce a specific release date, or what characters will be available in the event. Forza Horizon 5 's latest patch is a major one, adding story mode co-op, a new event, and new Hot Wheels cars and cosmetics ahead of the July expansion's release . The patch also fixes a number of high-profile bugs, adds convertible functionality to some of FH5's cars, and adds support for a handful of new languages in both subtitles and voice over. Final Fantasy 16 is likely to receive a mature rating ahead of its launch in summer of 2023, which is somewhat of a novelty for games in Square Enix's storied role-playing series. To date, there are only a handful of titles that go beyond the T- or E-rating, and Final Fantasy XVI looks set to be among them. In an interview with GameSpot , producer Naoki Yoshida said the team pursued this rating as it let them tell the story they wanted to more freely. According to Yoshida, although he believes somewhat restrictive ratings are important to ensure the proper people are consuming the appropriate content, trying to tell a more mature story while adhering to the restrictions of ratings below the mature level can hamper the creative process and the experience for players.
