Diablo Immortal will reportedly not be released in two major European countries. Immortal is set to arrive this Thursday, June 2 on Android and iOS, with a PC open beta kicking off on the same day. But players in Belgium and the Netherlands won't be able to join the fun. The reason has to do with the two countries' regulations about loot boxes. After the announcement of its cancellation last week, some images have appeared online of the unnamed Marvel MMO project. Last week, publisher Enad Global 7 announced that the unnamed Marvel MMO had been cancelled , with resources now moving across other long-term projects. Nothing had been shown off about the game since its announcement, but now some art shared by one of the game's designers has been shared online. The designer in question, Ramiro Galan, shared a look at the MMO on his Artstation portfolio, showing something much more stylised than many might have expected. Most notably, in the description for the post Galan wrote "Emphasis was on rich and vibrant colours with stylistic tones that pay homage to Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse." Another month, another PlayStation Plus monthly games leak, this time for the month of June, this time favouring the fighting game fan. As reported by Spanish site Areajugones (thanks, VGC ), this time the batch of games include a pretty big name title, 2018's God of War . As well as that, the Smash Bros Melee inspired platform fighter Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is reportedly featured, as well as arena fighter Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker . Areajugones has previously accurately reported on leaks before, funnily enough for June 2021, so the leak seems to be fairly credible. It also lines up with what we've heard from billbil-kun, the one who normally leaks each month's PS+ games. Apparently the plan for billbil-kun is to share their leak tomorrow (May 31), though did make a note that users shouldn't buy games for children or teenagers, or "ultra popular games." Elden Ring has over 100 named bosses. Given the sheer number of boss fights you could find yourself into, some are bound to be less loved than others. Case in point, boss fights where you have to take on two, and sometimes three, enemies at once. The idea that you're trapped in an arena with more than a single mighty foe is already terrifying, but Elden Ring's enemy AI previously made those fights harsher than they needed to be. Developer FromSoftware seemingly agrees, because it recently nerfed the AI of bosses, specifically those in group fights. This change was made in patch 1.04, but the developer didn't announce it in the patch notes. It was instead discovered by players when they noticed that those fights have become less taxing. Things aren't looking so good for Mafia 3 developer Hangar 13 , as the studio receives more layoffs following recent lead departures. Earlier this month, a report detailed that Hangar 13 is working on a new Mafia game, this time a prequel, and that multiple big departures had taken place at the company. Studio head Haden Blackman was one of them, alongside chief operating officer Matthew Urban. Now, after already having received two sets of layoffs in 2017 and 2018, the studio has gone through further layoffs, as reported by Kotaku . According to the report, layoffs have occurred at all three sites across the world, with almost 50 losing their jobs at Hangar 13's Novato, California office. "I know it sucks," said Nick Baynes, Blackman's replacement and head of the Brighton, UK office, in a staff meeting earlier this week. An Elden Ring player has managed to make such a powerful build that they can take down every boss in one hit. It already seems like a lifetime ago that Elden Ring launched, but no, it was February. In that time however, players have managed some ridiculous feats, such as Twitch streamer BushyGames who managed to develop a build that lets him one shot every boss in the game (thanks, Kotaku ). The rules for the challenge that BushyGames set for himself are pretty simple. Only one attack per enemy or boss phase (after all, some bosses have mandatory second phases). These problems have been ramping up in recent months, with fans even going so far as to stage a peaceful protest asking Valve to do something about the issue. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has been officially revealed, a sequel to 2020's Fallen Order from developer Respawn Entertainment . The reveal came as part of this week's Star Wars Celebration which has had a myriad of other reveals, and comes in the form of a short teaser trailer. Protagonist Cal Kestis is set to return in this sequel, expected to launch in 2023, though five years have passed since the first game. Like many game reveals, this one was just a cinematic trailer, so no hints as to what the gameplay might be like. Though it's probably safe to say it will just be an expanded version of the first game's gameplay. Interestingly, the Grand Inquisitor makes an appearance in the trailer, who was also just recently featured in the Disney+ show Obi-Wan Kenobi. Gotham Knights is set to release later this year , but fans have voiced their concern at a particular narrative detail regarding Batgirl's history. Respawn has officially revealed the long-rumored Star Wars Jedi: Fall Order sequel . Called Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the new game is scheduled for a 2023 release. Sadly, it seems like Respawn didn't like my suggestion that Merrin should be the protagonist for Fallen Order's sequel , as Survivor will once again star Cal Kestis. As seen in the trailer, most of Cal's allies are notably absent (save for BD-1), including Merrin. In the trailer, we see Cal meet with a Pau'an (the long-limbed humanoids that Obi-Wan meets on Utapau), which is notably the same species as the Grand Inquisitor--the leader of the Jedi hunters that served under Darth Vader. So this could be the Grand Inquisitor, but that seems unlikely given his role in other Star Wars stories, like Star Wars Rebels. Sniper Elite 5 developer Rebellion has issued a statement the sudden and mysterious removal of the game from the Epic Games Store on PC. It was originally supposed to launch on the platform alongside the other announced ones. In a statement to VCG , Rebellion said, "Due to circumstances beyond our control Sniper Elite 5 was not available on the Epic Store at launch but will be released on that platform in the future. We apologize for any inconvenience." Sniper Elite 5 was previously available for preorder on the Epic Games Store, but before the game's release, it was pulled from the storefront, and refunds were issued. Super Mario Strikers: Battle League may be based on soccer, but from the looks of a hands-off live preview, it appears to be taking some liberal notes from American football. From the name "Battle League" to the heavily armored gear to the Mushroom Kingdom residents striking poses with what can only be described as "'tude," this appears to be an enjoyably irreverent way to toughen up the sport. It starts with the selection of stadiums, in which two different arenas are smashed together at the mid-field line, making a functional hybrid of both. These fields may have some minor size differences, but the main point is the visual satisfaction of watching huge landmasses crash into one another. Then the players take the field, looking angier and more determined than they ever have (even when a giant lizard kidnapped their quasi-girlfriend). I don't know about you, but I've been having a hell of a time playing Nintendo Switch Sports with friends and online lately. Head of Xbox Phil Spencer stated today in an all-hands meeting that he would recognize Raven Software's union pending Xbox's acquisition of Activision Blizzard , according to Kotaku . High end all-in-one retro gaming console company Playmaji has teased the latest add-on for its Polymega machine, which will add support for another classic piece of gaming hardware: the Nintendo 64 . An image posted to twitter shows the control board that’ll fill part of the innards of an upcoming ‘module’ for the Polymega. It features four round controller ports, which is a dead giveaway that it’s either Nintendo 64 or GameCube - but text on the board reveals it to be ‘Element Module EM05 Ultra’, which lines up with the previously-announced name of the company’s planned N64 module . A fan project has reimagined what a Pokemon game could look like if it was rendered in both 3D and its original art style. When the series first began way in the 1990s, Ken Sugimori served as character designer and helped create the signature look of the franchise at the time by using traditional art methods. Fan artist Pokeyugami took that unique aesthetic and applied it to a 3D world, with the end result looking like an impressive return to the origins of Pokemon. Okay, maybe they're tied with Liurnia's Giant Crayfish - but those are far less common in the game's world. The Royal Revenants are the multi-limbed, crown-wearing centipede-like creatures. They're hated because they often surprise you by spawning out of nowhere, so you can't exactly avoid them. They're hard to stagger, and seem to have infinite stamina; pummelling you with one attack after another with their flailing arms until you're dead. To make Revenants even more aggravating, they have the ability to burrow into the ground and pop up behind you after they're done with their combo, which can sometimes cause you to accidentally aggro other nearby enemies, and eat a few hits unnecessarily as you attempt to reposition - not to mention make it very hard to escape. Amazon Prime Day is happening very soon so it's time to get ready with what we can expect to be on sale during this year's event. This will mean reductions on many games and accessories, and a potential deal or two on consoles. Unlike the PlayStation 5 , the Xbox Series X has slowly been recovering in terms of stock availability. In the UK, Microsoft's flagship console has remained in stock at Amazon for the last few weeks now. With stock being available during last year's Prime Day and other events like Black Friday, we can expect it to be a little easier to buy from this online behemoth. As for the US, the Xbox Series X restocks have still been sparse. We hope the console makes an appearance this Prime Day but we don't expect to see any discounts. With 2018's God of War having been released on PC earlier this year, mods of course were expected to come, and now a mod will let you play as Homer and Bart Simpson. God of War tells a tale of a broken man, with a long, painful history, trying to figure out how to once again be a father. And this Simpsons themed mod takes all of that, and undercuts it by replacing Kratos and Atreus' character models with Home and Bart. The mod comes from Omega Fantasy , who has a history of God of War mods, with the video showing it off on YouTuber ToastedShoe's channel. It's unclear if the mod will be playable for everyone or not, but it's genuinely kind of impressive. A simple character model swap, it is not, as Omega Fantasy hired some voice actors doing impressions of the characters too, with Benjamin Rudmar as Homer, and June Briar as Bart. Final Fantasy 14's now iconic producer Naoki Yoshida has recently detailed how his first game ended up getting cancelled. Not every game is going to see the light of day, and it turns out that that was the case for Yoshida's first title he was working on at Square Enix . All the young readers might not be aware of this, but back in the day, Square and Enix used to be two separate companies. And now, speaking with We Are Vana'diel , Yoshida spoke of how the 2003 merger between the two eventually led to the cancellation of the first title he worked on at the joined company (thanks, Kotaku ). At the time, Yoshida was working as an outside developer on an online PC title at Enix, prior to the merger. However, things started to change once the merger took place. Whether the NPCs will be able to simultaneously move, talk, and come off like something close to humans. Dreaming of a world full of undiscovered quests, un-plundered chests, pristine sweetrolls. But the human brain doesn’t sit well with incomplete information loops. It’s difficult to live with the uncertainty of the Elder Scrolls 6 – it might be a terrible pile of wretched nonsense, for all we know. Our subconscious mind wants to solve problems, not simply sit with them. That’s the best explanation I have for why I installed Oblivion again recently. It’s so far in the past that the memories I have of it are one sugar-coated glossy haze now, more of a fuzzy feeling than a clear sequence of events. After Embracer Group's recent acquisition of Tomb Raider and more, it's looking like "remakes, remasters, and spinoffs," are on the table. The start of the month saw the next big acquisition of the year in the gaming industry, this time with Embracer Group taking on IPs like Tomb Raider and Deus Ex , and studios like Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal . It's obvious that Embracer Group would want to capitalise on this wealth of media and talent, but how it planned to do so wasn't clear just yet. Now, in the company's quarterly earnings report , plans are a bit clearer. Talking about the acquisition, Embracer Group wrote that it received "an overwhelming and positive response," saying that it sees "great potential, not only in sequels, but also in remakes, remasters, spinoffs, as well as transmedia projects across the Group." An incredibly impressive mod for Fallout 4 called Fallout London, first revealed last year, has shown off around 20 minutes of gameplay. All mods are equal, but some mods are more equal than others. That happens to be the case with this particular mod, Fallout London, which essentially looks like an entire game in its own right. A new gameplay trailer shows off what looks to be the first roughly 20 minutes of gameplay for the "DLC-sized mod," with a pretty classic style opening. There's a slideshow explaining what happens when the bombs dropped in London, because war never changes, as we all know. Then of course, it starts you out in some kind of mysterious lab, where two scientists are studying you. There's even some original voice acting! After years of mostly average review scores for Sonic games, Sega is aiming high with the upcoming Sonic Frontiers . We all love the fastest hedgehog around, we just don't all love his games. But it seems like Sega is targeting high review scores for the next entry in the beloved-but-flawed series. As shared by VGC , during a recent analyst and investor Q&A, the company was asked if it had any targets in mind for review scores on sites like Metacritic, which Sega Sammy's CEO Haruki Satomi and CFO Koichi Fukazawa confirmed was the case. "We have set internal targets, as the correlation between the scores of external evaluation organizations and sales is high in Europe and North America," the two said. "If the game gets a high score, it can become a must-buy game, and possibly generate synergy with sales, so we are currently working hard to improve the quality of the game toward its sales for the holiday season." A fan project has given us a taste of what a 3D Pokémon game might look like if the series tried to mimic its original 2D art style. Pokémon's art style has changed a lot over the years, but obviously plenty of us still have a fondness for the original 2D art from character designer Ken Sugimori. His art style around the time of the original Pokémon games was incredibly distinctive, opting for very angular looks, and played with light in creative ways through a watercolour look. And now a fan has translated that 2D style into a 3D one, giving us a look into an alternate reality. The project comes from fan artist pokeyugami, showing off a short video on Twitter of their take on a 3D Pokémon game. It's pretty obvious that the video is mimicking Sugimori's art style, one that looks ridiculously good in 3D. So much so that it's almost upsetting there isn't a game in this classic art style. Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards was released to Nintendo Switch Online yesterday , May 20, and players of the game have found a rather serious bug. According to a post on reddit from user keyblademasternadroj (thanks, Nintendo Everything ), the bug appears in underwater levels when hit by certain damage sources. This causes Kirby to be stunned "forever," and to fix it, you need to quit the level. Apparently, the bug was not included in the original N64 game, so it is something new with the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack release.
