Indie developer Aggro Crab Games has put out a strong statement against NFTs. The studio condemned one of its business partners, publisher Team17 after it had announced it would begin selling NFTs . Aggro Crab has only worked on one game together with Team17 so far, and that was 2020's Going Under. The statement reads, "We believe NFTs cannot be environmentally friendly, or useful, and really are just an overall ****ing grift. Please do not harass employees at Team17 or the devs under their umbrella, as this decision seems to have taken everyone off guard and likely came from the very top." Netmarble has announced The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, a new open-world RPG based on the popular manga and anime series. The reveal trailer for the game was first posted by Korean gaming outlet Inven on its YouTube channel and shows off a variety of gameplay focused on exploration and combat in a style that looks similar to Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and MiHoyo's Genshin Impact . The first State of Play showcase of 2022 has been announced by PlayStation , and this new stream promises to delve deep into the features and modes of Gran Turismo 7 ahead of the game's release on March 4. The first State of Play of the year will be getting started at about 2pm PT/5pm ET/10pm GMT. Don't expect anything else other than Gran Turismo 7 info from the State of Play, at this point – Sony hasn't mentioned anythying else on the docket for this stream. So what exactly are we going to see in this new presentation, then? Well, Sony notes that we can expect 'just over 30 minutes' of new footage from the game. It's taken years. It's taken a myriad of delays, a ludicrous number of producers and writers and show-runners, and a lot of determination from a very dedicated production crew. But – finally – the Halo TV series is coming. It's got a proper release date and everything: March 24, 2022. We got our first look at the Halo TV series back at the Xbox 20th anniversary showcase in November 2021. Then, we got another brief teaser in November before a full-fat trailer dropped towards the end of the year. The company behind the show, Paramount, dropped a two-minute trailer for the premium show last night, and it gives us a lot more information about what to expect from the highly-anticiapted project. The trailer overview seems to suggest we're diverging from the established canon of the games; the actual Halo ring discovery appears to be different, there appear to be more Spartans out there, and UNSC top brass seems wary of Chief and Halsey. Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries has provided an update on Big Team Battle's ongoing issues and forthcoming changes to the in-game store. In a blog post , 343 said it has gathered telemetry data from the January 19 patch-- which did not fix the issues properly --and is now working on a follow-up patch that should get the mode in better shape. The patch has already been tested and it will be sent in for certification on January 31. If all goes well and the patch is approved, it will then launch for everyone on Thursday, February 3, at the soonest. Big Team Battle has been facing substantial issues since before the holidays, so it's good news to know a proper fix is coming, and potentially soon. As for the in-game shop changes, 343 started off by confirming that it's monitoring the feedback surrounding the recent launch of individual items for sale. Evil Dead: The Game has been delayed, again. Originally slated to release last year, the game was pushed into February 2022 by Boss Team Games in order to give it some extra polish and to ensure it's the "ultimate Evil Dead experience" we've all been waiting for. Now, the game has been moved to May 13 for what seems to be for the same reason, as the studio said it needs more time to deliver the best possible experience. Dark Souls is known as a notoriously hard franchise, but according to FromSoftware's Hidetaka Miyazaki, when developing titles, such as the upcoming Elden Ring , the studio's goal isn't to "force" such difficulty on the player. Instead, Miyazaki told the PS Blog , the games are designed to encourgae the player to "overcome adversity," and such is the case with Elden Ring. "We don’t try to force difficulty or make things hard for the sake of it," he said. "We want players to use their cunning, study the game, memorize what’s happening, and learn from their mistakes. We don’t want players to feel like the game is unfairly punishing, but rather that there’s a chance to win a difficult encounter and make progress. We all look forward to having a few days off. Some more so than others, especially if they have a hard job or one they hate so much they fantasize about one day walking into work and telling the boss to jump off a cliff. I feel bad for those people. But even for those of us that like our jobs and have a great boss, well, it's still nice to have a weekly break from the daily grind in order to rest, recharge, and get shit done we didn't have the time for during the work week. It's a shame we're all not independently wealthy. If we were, other than trying to help our fellow humans out, traveling, or saving dogs, we'd all likely do much of nothing except play video games all day. It's a shame everyone has to work. GeForce Now, which allows subscribers to stream a selection of games from Nvidia’s servers to modern devices like smartphones, tablets, and PCs, first entered beta on limited LG TVs back in November 2021, but now those with compatible 2021 TVs can download the full release from the LG Content Store . The FCC has voted to begin drafting a new rule that would require broadband and cable companies to be more transparent about hidden fees, data caps, and other restrictions that often remain undisclosed or difficult to understand . The proposal comes after major companies like Comcast and AT&T have fallen under fire for what many consider shady business practices, with the latter suffering FCC fines for falsely advertising “unlimited” data and then covertly imposing limits anyways. Horizon Forbidden West , the sequel to Guerrilla Games' new IP that debuted on PS4, has officially gone gold ahead of its release next month. While some of the video shows the game off in an early stage of production, it's still a fascinating look at some gameplay elements, including exploration of a bar, chasing down targets, and establishing Fett's reputation as a no-nonsense gun-for-hire. Star Wars 1313 was originally revealed at E3 2012, and would have seen players descend into the criminal underworld of the Galactic Empire's capital city, Coruscant. A year later, and the project was officially dead after Disney's acquired the Star Wars franchise and put all ongoing projects on hiatus. Following an investigation into alleged workplace malpractice at Ubisoft Singapore , the country's Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP) will not be taking action against the developer, and has closed the case. Last year, we learned that the studio behind the oft-delayed Skull & Bones, Ubisoft Singapore, was under investigation for workplace discrimination , after the TAFEP recieved anonymous complaints from staff about sexual harassment and workplace misconduct. Now, the investigation is concluded, and the TAFEP has found Ubisoft to have a structured system in place to handle any workplace misconduct reports, and noted that past reports were also handled appropriately. Overwatch's annual Lunar New Year event is officially live on PC and consoles, bringing with it new cosmetics, event brawls, and more. This year's event, which will celebrate the Year of the Tiger, will feature two arcade-style games to compete in with other players, including Bounty Hunter, where the player who scores the first kill of the match becomes a target and everyone else becomes a Bounty Hunter. When the target is killed, the player who dealt the final blow will then become the new target, and so on until the timer runs down. Capture the Flag Blitz is a modified version of Capture the Flag where the flags are much closer than before and are at the locations that overtime games typically go to. The first "official" trailer for Paramount's upcoming Halo TV series is coming this weekend, Microsoft and Paramount have announced. The trailer will air during halftime of this Sunday's NFL AFC Championship game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals on CBS and Paramount Plus. No matter how good you are at Halo Infinite , you're probably not as good as YouTuber Tom on the Simply & Slick channel , who managed to beat the game without taking any damage. That feat on its own is impressive stuff, but it was made even more challenging by Tom accomplishing it on Legendary, Halo Infinite's most lethal difficulty. The run took Tom around seven hours to complete, with the rule being that every time he took damage, he'd kill himself and restart from a checkpoint. With the game finally beaten, Tom's death-counter had registered 239 lethal restarts. While the earlier stages proved to be a hassle, the transition to Halo Infinite's more open sandbox provided Tom with more breathing room, especially after he used an in-game exploit to acquire a mobile version of the scorpion tank cannon.
